I bought some KL Bird Park's discount vouchers some months back. Have always wanted to bring the kids for the trip. However it was postponed due to papa's oversea business trips (most the time) & kid's sickness. When we decided to go last month, haze occurred & papa on-hold the trip till the weather gets better.
So, last week, seeing the weather was getting better, I proposed to papa again for the trip & told him that my "vouchers" is going to expired soon. To my surprise, papa decided to take us to KL Bird Park. 1st July 2012 marks our "BIG DAY"! This is our ever first family trip - yes - me, papa & with our 3 kids! My twins were very excited the day before, as I told that about the trip & I reminded them to slept earlier to have energy for the trip & requested them to prepare for their own bag & etc.
I woke up very early that day to prepare porridge for JY - hum, that's the only food which he can took now, although he's getting to "terrible 2" stage now. Yet, sometimes he refused to take fully solid food - when he took a bit of hard food, which is hard to chew for him, he'll spit it out to you-yeah a very bad attitude for JY.
(The story behind this :- I guess the main reason is he "was used" to soft type food. From BB time - 18 months old, he was taken care by nanny. The nanny will blend all the cook porridge to feed him - I used to against it & requested the nanny to try to feed him on "solid food" instead to let him learn to chew hard solid food. But nanny told that he'll spit out - because he is used to solf type food. I guess it takes longer time for him to be fully on solid food, I'm glad that he is now able to take rice with vege & meats at mom's place.)
We left at 11am from Puchong to KL Bird Park & we relied on papa's GPRS. And frankly speaking, GPRS was the worst way of giving directory & directions to your destinations. We was turning here & there, reaching no where as we don't know how to go - GPRS was the only way & our help. Finally & luckily we find the place & reach there by noon.
The main entrance to the place was very narrow & crowded with people & car (maybe it's weekend & lots of visitors). We took roughly 20 minutes to wait for our parking. There was actually an open car park at a steet away from the place, but to us it was far as bringing the 3 kids for a walk will be torturing as my kids refused to walk by their own most the time, and I can't carry them anymore.
It was long queue for the ticket counter - luckily mine was at redemption counter. Vey fast, less than 5 minutes. The kids were excited for the walk & here we go. As it was noon time, it was very hot at KL Bird Park. Although there were shady trees for shading, you can still feel the heat in it. I was carrying a big bag - which some small snacks, waters & chrysathemun tea for cooling. For the kids, they were fully "equipped"..hehe I put hat on them for shading, in case they complaint "HOT" & of course JY is still too early to complaint with his words.
The place was nice for exploring the kids with nature & letting them to know about birds. We saw lots of peacocks in the park. They were very tame & tourist can just took photos with them. I asked my twins if they would like to take photos with the birds - to my surprise they refused & when I asked them the reason : They scared that the bird is going to bite or hurt them! Well, it seems that I can't forced the twins to take photos at all. On the other hand, JY was very fond of birds, he even wants to go further to touch the birds. Maybe at this stage, he is still not scared at all. We observed JY since BB time, he is always animal lover - he loves dogs, cats birds. I remember that he used to took EQ's bolster as the bolster case was with small animal printing, I'll teach him the animals & he can uttered, I guess this interest started when he was small.
Going to the park need a lot of walking & walking - and my twins started to lost their patience as for them all birds are the same? And as weather is getting hot, they started cranky by refusing to walk, and when it started with EQ, next KH also complaining he can;t walk further on. Oh twins...and luckily we glad that JY is so enjoying the trip, as he wants to see the birds. As papa is carrying JY most the time (scared that JY is going to touch the birds & get hurt, and the road was slippery too), I took nice photos for them.
Our photo sessions :-
This is my favorite one - papa & the kids. JY was running towards me while I'm trying to take this photo. He was so cute & the naughty KH refused to take off his map ^_^
Some nice peacocks & flamingos.
My twins were very fancy on flamingos. They were tall, skinny & some were standing with one leg & they kept asking why & why...hehe
Remark
Although is was very tiring, I'm glad that all of us enjoyed the trip, especially the kids. They might not know all the birds, but picture show a thousand word, and I'm glad while I'm writing my blogs, KH was standing besides me & he can still remember what he did there.
I guess family trip doesn't need to be very expensive of going oversea for a luxurious Disney trips & etc., it could be just a small trip going to the park. The main objective is everyone is enjoying the trip & it enhance family bonds within us & siblings getting know to each other.

Hectic & busy holidays
I've been really busy since last month. This is backdated postings for myself so that I can pen down some nice memories about our kids ^_^
19 May - 21 May 2012
Marked as important trip for our family - we brought twins to Penang for a short holiday. (Hubby needs to attend his friend's wedding dinner) We didn't bring JY alone as we are just unable to handle 3 kids by ourselves :-(
Recall back the trip, it wasn't easy at all. Twins have been coughing badly the week before & ended me myself also down with fever. On the day we are leaving to Penang, papa send us to clinic for medical treatment just to make sure everyone is OK for the trip. (If you asked me, I wouldn't go because I'm too exhausted due to my sickness)
We reached Penang island at 6.30pm - a bit late & behind our initial schedule. Lost our way to find our hotel. Luckily we manage to meet up with hubby's cousin sister & they lead us to check in to our hotel & head for our dinner.
The 1926 Heritage Hotel was clean & comfortable for staying, to me but not for hubby. Hubby claimed that the facility were too old & not standard. Well, I guess the price was within our budget as we were only planning for a night stay. The Rasa Sayang Hotel was at RM570 ++ per night, which I think was too much for us.
Twin's eye were sparkling when they saw swimming pool in the hotel, haha. They requested for a swim (luckily I bought all their swimming clothes for stand by). EQ was brave in playing water, compared to KH. KH dared not walk even to the children's swimming pool by himself, he wants me to hold his hand to go with him & join with hubby & EQ - Sigh!
(Too bad my camera's battery is flat & I couldn't take any photos later on)
We went to Strait's Quay ( a new shopping mall according to our cousin in law). It was a small shopping mall with some flea market & the main attraction was the boats parking outside. The scenery should be very nice during sun sets (but we missed that as we were too late). Yet, the night scenery was nice too, it'll be better during windy days. It was the first time we brought twins to see boats, everything seems special & new to them.
This is the first photo taken for twins at Penang, on our way to restaurant for our dinner.
Twins in trishaw (took the opportunity to take this photo while the driver parked his trishaw at roadside)
On the second day, we checked out early from hotel & went to Kek Lok Si Temple for a praying.
Didns manage to go to uphills, as twins refuse to walk by their own & want us to carry them. Ended we just pray at downhills temple. There were a place for turtle's feeding further inside the temple. Kids were enjoying themselves feeding the turtles, we bought 2 bundles of kangkung for the twins. If we didn't "force" them to go back, I guess they'll be staying there till end of the day. (The small bundle of kangkung were sold at RM1.00 each & was too pricey to me. Kangkung were sold at less than that in hypermarkets, I guess in tourism places, this is how people deal with business, right? Especially we the parents, with kids, seeing our own kids enjoying so much.)
Next we went to Penang Hill - lots of people queuing for the train. Luckily we were early that day. Waiting our turns & manage to get our seats next to the window so that twins can have a better view & experience during the ride. It was very fast, I guess about 10 minutes ride from down hill to up hill. We went for a stroll uphills, lots of walking & due to hot weather twins were very tiring & want us to carry them the whole trip. It was torturing for me, especially I'm with serious back pain that time.
At noon, we headed back to Seberang Perai as we need to check in our hotel & rest before attending the wedding dinner. I suggested to hubby to take ferry instead as this will be a very nice experience for twins.
It was indeed. Took a photo for twins & hubby in the ferry. Twins love the ferry ride so much.
Although it was very tiring for me during the whole trip, I'm glad that we brought twins along for a short holiday. Exploring twins to public transport - train, ferry was a good experience, which I hope they can still remember when they were a bit older. I'm still looking forward for another family trip, but this round I really hope we can bring JY along. Lets cross our fingers & pray to the best ^_^

Twin's Craft
I love doing crafts with twins, I guess it could be due to me loving drawings & crafts so much.
While fetching twins back some weeks back, teacher has reminded parents of a message book in the kid's bag - well, it seems that the kids need to do a craft work together with the parents for a "Thank You Card" for teacher's day & must used the recyclables materials for the craft work.
I thought this could be fun & at the same time teaching the twins about reuse items.
We did the card in 2 days as I need to collect "materials" before allocating it to the kids.
I started with :-
a.collecting alphabetical wordings for "THANK YOU" from my old magazines
(I put this wordings in 2 envelope & wrote on a cardboard for the kids & asked them to rearrange nicely)
b.collecting Vitagen's seal - this is for the flowers in the card
c.collecting after sharpening colour pencils strips - which can form as a flower for the card
d.collecting big card boards - I reused the packaging card from the bed sheet which I bought from Jusco
e.a ribbon - this broken piece was from EQ's dress which I sew back to reuse
f.some milk powder's spoon - I've plenty of this & most of the time I kept this in case of redemption ^_^
(I used blue & yellow spoon acting as a boy / girl's face)
The first night we started with the painting on the big cardboard.
We glued the wordings on the small cardboard & did finger painting for the flowers, followed with gluing the sharpened pencil color strips.
(This is done in Part 1 - the smaller card)
The second night (which happens to be a night before teacher's day) - we glued the Vitagen's seal & with the "Hugs" strips on the nig cardboard. Later part was writing "Happy Teacher's Day".
I helped twins for tying the small & big cards with my wools ^_^
And, the outcome :-
KH's Thank You Card
EQ's Thank You Card
Below are some old drawings which the twins did for the past few months (I kept them for my collection)

Pizza Fiesta
Today when I fetch twins back from kindie, teachers were distributing the "hand made photo frame" to the kids. Lots of mommies (including me) were so delighted seeing this - well, this is the hand made photo frame for Mother's Day ^_^
Twins were so happy handed to me their craft - nicely draw & painted & with our photos in it (I wonder if twins really draw this, as to me the flower's pattern is a bit hard for their age.) KH's one is with yellow color flower printing while EQ's one is with green colour. Obviously this were their favourite colours!
I was so touched receiving the gift hehe & so sweet - this is my first Mother's Day gift from the kids & I decided to treat twins for pizza. We went back to change to home clothes (the last round I brought them to KFC in their uniforms ended the twins mis-behaved the whole session with milo split on their clothes & tomato ketchup on EQ's dress - I had to soak & wash for few rounds to get the dirt off - Sigh!).
On our way to Pizza Hut, I told twins we are going or some pizza. Seated & the waitress gave us menus & I requested them to have a look at the menus (staring at the kids menu) & demanding for this & that for their lunch. I never took any kids meal for this before - so I order pizza sets for KH & pasta for EQ. EQ loves pasta a lot (some weeks back papa took us to Friday, IOI for late lunch & to our surprise EQ finished all the pasta by her own & I guess the main reason is the tomato sauce for the pasta 0 her favorites)
Our meal were served :-
a.1 kid's pizza set (served with ice cream + chocolate milk shake)
b.1 kid's paste set (served with ice cream + chocolate milk shake)
c.4pcs Deli Wings (special request from EQ)
d.1 bowl of mushroom soup (for myself - but the soup was very terrible with the undiluted starch
e.and we got 1 complimentary set of kid's meal (pineapple tuna pizza + 1 soya bean drink)
The food was too much for 3 of us - and twins just took a bit for their meal, like usual - KH just want pizza & EQ the pasta. KH won't even try for any pasta, he didn't like the pasta appearance at all - it was a mess - he told..oh my. What they really fancy is the dessert - ice cream & the milk shake.
See how they are enjoying themselves :-
The next round I'll just order 1 set of kid's meal share by 3 of us..haha
At night, KH was playing wooden blocks by his own - this was one of his favorite toys...he told us it was a house & requesting me to take a photo for him & must took a snapshot for his house..hehe
I'm thinking to buy another wooden blocks for the kids -opps spending money again..hehe

My first trial on cup cakes
I really adore those whom have great baking skills. I decided to try baking. Here it goes :-
First trial was the butter cake - I bought the butter cake mix & thought can bake the cake with my Toshiba rice cooker ( I saw from Anggugu forum that this rice coker can bake cakes & the effect was nice too). I thought it'll be easy..I guess I've high hope on myslef & over-estimate on things.
The outcome - FAILED. The cake was too hard...and tasteless.
I stopped & wondering myself - should I continue on this foolish ideas of baking, or give another try.
I told my mom about the butter cake case, and she offered to give me the oven (my broter got 2 new sets at his place as house warming presents). Thanks mom...it was the best present I ever had..hehe
With the new oven, I started to do my Einstein projects on muffins!Yes, not cakes anymore. Again, I went to the baking shop for the chocolate muffins. Excitedly..I try on my experiments.
Baking the muffins in the oven, waiting & tata the outcome - not that nice dressings but still eatable, haha.
I realized later that muffins were too dried & too hard, compared to cup cakes.
Then I did my first trial on cup cakes yesterday, following the recipe on the Kawaii Bento.
The recipe was just nice for me (at least at this stage ^_^) - 6 cupcakes, not too many & if failed, I won't waste so much at all.

Isn't it just nice..hehe with the flower mashmallow on top of the chocolate chips cupcakes.
Yes, I've decided to do cupcakes for the kid's party on 25 May 2012.
Wish me luck, ok & lets cross our fingers & wish me all the best for my cupcakes ^_^
