Last Saturday I took a short course at Mahkota Cheras. (It was a very good course organize by Early 123 Forum. Just that time was very rush as I was late to the course as I don't know how to get there & thanks to Ah Fen - hubby's cousin sister whom willing to bring me there from Bt 9 - Bt 11. I'll try to update my course's summary / notes.). I told papa earlier & gain his permission to attend the class, before registering it. Papa give me assurance that he can handle the twins nicely in his office - well, lets cross our fingers.
I reached home at 2pm as it was terrible jam & I lost my way back ~ Sigh!
Twins were sleeping soundly..hehe & no complaint from papa as well.
I thought everything was just nice....who knows when I reached office yesterday..I was too busy to see tiny little things of what did my twins did last Saturday..until I saw this :-
I was laughing when I saw this & I showed it to papa too. OMG..I just can't stop laughing at this - my twins sticked all the stickers (which they took off from their activity book) & pasted them nicely on the glue!
I guess twins might have scared that me or papa might have scolded them if the stickers were sticked elsewhere & left on the floor. (This is very common for twins at home, as they'll just peeled off the stickers & started to stick on their bag, book, water tumbler or sometimes out into their bag to give to their "friend" in kindie.) And they started to think a way to stick it - yes, on mommy's glue..which she'll see it daily & she won't scold to them as well.
Oh my..my twins & I just amazed on their creativity.
Isn't it nice for a laugh with their "small creativity"?
It just remind me that everything we did, we've our own intention of doing it, even with our kids.
Sometimes what we see might not be the truth, we need to see from a different aspects.
I guess parenting is the same too, I need to be patience & loving to my kids too. Do with passion, and they'll understand your love to them one day ^_^
The Seond Highlights
This morning when I reached office, Vimala - my staff told me of my girl
"Ms Leong, you know your girl was ragging me last Saturday while you were not here?"
OMG - this was the first thing that flashed in my mind, what did my little princess did this time?
Vimala explained to me that while she was doing her work, it seems that my girl is trying "to help" & when she told my girl is not the correct way & try to explain to her - EQ says " QUIET. PLEASE"...two times very loud....
My staff can't stopped laughing with my girl...and she told me that EQ was getting better with her vocabulary & English now. Hehe..yeah I need to admit this but at the same time, what worries me is KH - he is still very layback in his attitudes in socializing, in his speech & learning. He will tend to wait & observed what the sister did & followed - it worries me, as the principal said the same. I need to act fast to build up his self esteem & self confidence..need to act before it's too late...to be continue

Twin's Craft
I love doing crafts with twins, I guess it could be due to me loving drawings & crafts so much.
While fetching twins back some weeks back, teacher has reminded parents of a message book in the kid's bag - well, it seems that the kids need to do a craft work together with the parents for a "Thank You Card" for teacher's day & must used the recyclables materials for the craft work.
I thought this could be fun & at the same time teaching the twins about reuse items.
We did the card in 2 days as I need to collect "materials" before allocating it to the kids.
I started with :-
a.collecting alphabetical wordings for "THANK YOU" from my old magazines
(I put this wordings in 2 envelope & wrote on a cardboard for the kids & asked them to rearrange nicely)
b.collecting Vitagen's seal - this is for the flowers in the card
c.collecting after sharpening colour pencils strips - which can form as a flower for the card
d.collecting big card boards - I reused the packaging card from the bed sheet which I bought from Jusco
e.a ribbon - this broken piece was from EQ's dress which I sew back to reuse
f.some milk powder's spoon - I've plenty of this & most of the time I kept this in case of redemption ^_^
(I used blue & yellow spoon acting as a boy / girl's face)
The first night we started with the painting on the big cardboard.
We glued the wordings on the small cardboard & did finger painting for the flowers, followed with gluing the sharpened pencil color strips.
(This is done in Part 1 - the smaller card)
The second night (which happens to be a night before teacher's day) - we glued the Vitagen's seal & with the "Hugs" strips on the nig cardboard. Later part was writing "Happy Teacher's Day".
I helped twins for tying the small & big cards with my wools ^_^
And, the outcome :-
KH's Thank You Card
EQ's Thank You Card
Below are some old drawings which the twins did for the past few months (I kept them for my collection)

Learning through playing
Playing allow kids to learn about themselves and the world around them. Through playing, a kid will develop the skills that expand his / her physical, cognitive and emotional abilities.
Kodomo Kids House
This is the link which I saw online from forum that it's a good playschool for kids to join & learn a lot.
It's Kodomo Kids House, located at Setia Alam.
The teacher - Miss Ice is a very friendly & caring teacher.
(I've initially enrolled my twins for a course last month, was called off at the end due to hubby didn't allowed twins to go playschool & he needs me to take care BB JY during weekend as well. I was moody past few weeks due to this, and I don't know when my twins will be able to go playschool / kindie in near future)
We brought twins once to the Kodomo Kids House, twins loved it a lot, as they can play & learn at the mean time. Twins were so enjoy until not willing to go home, when I told them it's time to go home for a nap.
Although I only been there once, I love it's environment, especially the teacher, which is so loving for the kids. We share about the thoughts of the kids & she taught me on selecting the kid's educational toys, which we can purchased it & teach our kids.
Among the toys she mentioned, I love this one - it's a toy which we can put the "nails" into the board to do crafts / patterns.
It can train the kids to learn motor skills by pressing & removing the "nails" & at the same time to train kids to learn how to do a pattern as it has a sequence to follow in order to play on the board.
(I don't know how to call / address this toy as this toy is initially from me & my brother's generation. It was bought from my dad when we were very small. Yes, we still kept the toys & the toys were still in good condition. It was made from Italy, maybe I guess toys last time were better than now because of it's quality)
Lets see what my twins are doing :-

It's nice isn't it?

Teaching twins to read
I've been wanting to teach my twins to read since they reached 1yr old. However it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I remember when twins reached 1 yr old, instead of reading books, they are biting & tearing the books. I've tried soft books, hard cover books & even flash cards. What ever things that is reachable ended will be in pretty "bad shape" later - torn into pieces :-(
So, I didn't buy many books that time. Those books I used were freebies given by twins formula milk & some friends which we exchanged some goodies.
Yet, I feel like as they are growing, it should be time to read & write by themselves. If I didn't start now, when is the right timing?
Yet,the task is not easy. At the age of 3, they still love to tear books. I wonder why? You can scold them or beat them, ended they'll still do this the next time. Daddy is very angry with this when he saw twins tearing pages into pieces..and doesn't allowed me to let twins read books by their own.
(I was very angry with daddy because in my opinion - twins should have given a chance to read while they can. Although tearing papers really dismay all of us.)
I'm still trying my very best to read to twins daily, when I'm free.
Wish me luck..I'm still trying very hard.

(Mischievous EQ laughing at me while I was taking a photo of her.)

See what's my boy is doing - tearing the stickers from the book :-(

Twins Whereabouts (Backdated Posting)
It's not easy to watch kids grow, from newborn, to year 1 & now reaching year 2.
It seems like a dream as my twins were just born, but in reality they'll be reaching to actual age 2 by this May.
As usual, birthday for Loo's family is just a normal family gathering.(The main reason is daddy is super busy with his new project, and he's not free for the celebration.)Bought a fruit cake for twins & I thought they will blow the candles. Instead, they were just staring at the candles & looking at me & their daddy innocently & demanding for the cake...haha cute twins.
My dad (twins grandpa) bought them some musical toys, and whenever he's here, my twins will request for the toys. Too bad the musical toys were banned by me & my mom as we found the toys were too noisy & twins will start fighting each other for it.
Yes, my twins love to fight, especially when they are trying to "defence" their "treasures". Yes, they've declared themselves their own "kingdom" and none can conquer their empire. No exemption, not even us - adults!
If you think that my girl might be loosing in her battle, you might be wrong!
My darling EQ is a great defender, where she'll starts pushing her elder brother away & starts kicking him too, next follow by knocking & etc...Bla bla too violence, which we find unbelievable as a "GIRL" to do that. None of us teach them in this & I believed this is human nature? The strongest survive?
Nowadays twins are active - not yet talkative but will try to communicate with us with this & that. KH loves dancing & singing a lot, moving & shaking his body. EQ will only dance for her favorite songs. Sometimes I admire how twins can just watch the same DVD again & again, without bored (they requested for the same DVD)?
Just some photos taken lately

(Yummy...fruit cakes ^_^)

Checkup at PPUM
History / Background
For those whom are close to me definitely remember that my boy is diagnosed with abnormal breathing sound some months back. We were terrified that time with the words uttered by 1 young Malay lady doctor. Unbelievable & "horrified", we went to Dr Chan's Specialist for a checkup, the doctor smiled and look at us and calmed us that our boy is healthy active boy - Don't Worry....it was the best blessings to parents!
Checkup at PPUM
We still decided to bring Kiam Hong for ECHO as reconfirmation.
The first test is unable to do due to a failed sedation. Yesterday was the second attemption, trying to put my boy sleep. Yet the naughty boy will just looked at the surroundings and refused to be sleep! Dismayed & impatient, my hubby decided to send him for sedation. This time is better, daddy put only a bit of the medicine for Kiam Hong and he's still awake.
After 2.5 hours waiting at the corridor, the nurses felt so sorry with us by looking at our boy and decided to let him do the ECHO, with me hugging him. (The correct procedure should be lying on the bed, not moving at all for the scanning.)
The active boy still keep on looking at thje surrounding & cried loudly for the whole test. At least 6 nurses were besides us trying to calm my little boy ~ Sigh!
Finally the test is done & the nurse informed no abnormality!
In the afternoon, I went back to fetch my mom & En Qi to PPUM again for checkup.
Rushing and is very tiring :-(
Twins were so active at the PPUM, walking here & there. Not afraid of strangers (majority are Malay) at all, they even went to request for mineral water from a Malay lady ~ OMG! En Qi even followed the little young Malay girl and wanted to play with her instead.
After waiting for 2 hrs, we managed to meet with the doctor.
He told us twins look good, healthy & active, although my girl is a consider underweight, and presumed that when grown up, her weight will only maintain at 45kgs..haha same like mine!
When doctor finished the checking and told that we may go back , En Qi just turned immediately & walked towards the door trying to open the door!
Doctor even praised her "Alert Child!
Our next checkup will be April 2010 (2 weeks before our Kuching's trip), hope everything goes smooth then ^_^
Twins at actual age of 17 months
Kiam Hong : Weight 9.5kg, height 79.6cm
En Qi : Weight 8.0kg, height 76.3cm

Twins Height
Due to premature babies, twins look similar smaller, if compared to same age toddler. Their actual age need to be minus 2 months compared to their physical age, till reaching 2 years old.
Last Saturday I managed to buy the Rhymes Height Measuring Chart from Popular Bookstore.(Nice nursery rhymes, and I decided to unwrap the packaging as I knew my mischievous twins will tear the nice chart.)I also bought some books for them - a Disney ABC bubble book - as my agressive twins will tear books given to them, even the hardcover type & I've headache trying to teach them or read to them ~ Sigh!

Note
Did you noticed that my twins with new hairstyle?
Kiam Hong with "Botak Look" and poor little En Qi with "Tomboy Look".
The reason is because the weather is too hot & twins keep on sweating. So darling, please forgive your mum for your "new look" ^_^

Left Handed Or Right Handed
Old folks used to say that left handed is not good, especially for those superstitious people. In my case, I noticed that Kiam Hong is right handed while En Qi is left handed. (This are through our observations from the way they are holding things, eating habits, playing & etc.)I do not know that whether this will be fix or not.
However, one of the doctor told us that it is very hard to determine at such a young age. At toddler, they'll use both hand instead of one, and most of the time they are just playing, so we can't determine it exactly.
(This is consulted from PPUM's doctor)
Anyway, for my case I'll just have to ask my hubby to teach En Qi to write when she's older as he's a left handed. While, I'll just focus on Kiam Hong. But, I think that time we'll need to adjust our writing or eating habits - else, we'll end up fighting & knocking each other ^_^

Twins First Word
Finally, after waiting so long. My twins uttered their first word : "Ah Ba..Baba".
Ghee, a bit jealous beacuse they are saying this to the daddy, and not me.
My hubby is so happy in this 2 days, angels kept repeating "Ah Ba".
I wondered when will be my turn - hearing my twins calling me "Mama"?
